KUNG FU |
Shao lin ( 5 Animal Style) This Kung Fu system utilizes the characteristics of the Leopard, Tiger, Dragon, Crane, and Snake to defend against an attack. In Kung Fu, footwork and body movement is used to evade and flank against an opponents advances before, or while countering, as opposed to meeting the attack head on. Learning the characteristics and strategies of each of the 5 animals develops a well-rounded student who can draw on a deep knowledge base to respond to a defense situation. Our Su Lum Fa Kung Fu is taught through our After School Program and through our evening classes. Lessons are age appropriate, and seperate for both children and adults. |
Wing Chun Wing Chun is a very dynamic, concept-based, Chinese martial art that puts great emphasis on balance, structure, and sensitivity. Trapping techniques, kicks, and punches are directed toward the center line of the opponents body, while maintaining a forward push. Wing Chun concepts are taught through our evening classes as a subsystem of our Kung Fu class. Learning in this fashion creates a student that learns the good foundations of Wing Chun, while giving them both the opportunity and permission to "break the rules" of Wing Chun when appropriate, by using the flanking, non-linear movements of our 5 Animal Kung Fu. |
